REZ Agency, as one of eight partners from the countries of the Adriatic-Ionian region, is participating in the implementation of the BIOMIMICRY – Promoting biomimicry-inspired habitat design solutions for biodiversity protection and restoration, together with partners from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro.
On June 10, 2026, in Murska Sobota, Slovenia, a meeting of the project partners was held at which the implemented and ongoing activities were presented, and the next steps were agreed. The documents "Report on habitat assessment and biodiversity analysis" and “Biotopes typology study" were presented. The partners also presented projects dealing with the application of biomimicry practices in the countries they come from.
A field trip was also organized - a tour of the Lončarovci wetland, where the participants of the project were introduced to the plant and animal species that exist in this area.
The following day, on June 11, 2026, an Expert forum on biomimicry “Living Landscapes: Biomimicry, Habitat Connectivity and Pollinator Conservation” was held, which was also attended by partners OF the Biomimicry project.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the project is being implemented in the areas of Zenica-Doboj Canton and Middle Bosnia Canton and will enable the transfer of experiences and good practices from the European Union in the use of principles inspired by biomimicry in development processes and urban planning in the areas of these two cantons.
