Overall objective
Contribute to the improvement of employment capacities in the municipality of Travnik and in the area of the Central Bosnia Canton (CBC) through the creation and development of support mechanisms for young people in starting and running their own business.
Specific objectives
- Develop the coalition capacities of the Local Employment Partnership (LEP) of Travnik Municipality to enhance support to the private sector based on competitiveness and innovation.
- Enhance the capacity of “BeeZone” Business Incubator to support youth entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Accelerate the establishment and support the development of innovative micro, small and newly registered enterprises
Achieved results
- Accelerated establishment and supported development of 20 innovative start-ups.
- Motivational program to promote self-employment for at least 100 young unemployed persons (up to 30 years of age).
- In order to realize entrepreneurial ideas, 58 young unemployed people up to 35 years of age were educated, out of a total of 88 registered in two public calls. After two months of entrepreneurial training, the expert commission selected the best 20 business plans, which in terms of feasibility, sustainability, competitiveness in the labor market and the potential for growth and job creation were given the opportunity to realize business ideas.
- With 217,300 KM, TREIN supported a total of 20 businesses in which 30 new workers were employed.
- Updated database of business incubator “BeeZone” with 100 new business ideas collected through entrepreneurial education.
- Improved space in the Incubator “BeeZone” with a new space, fully equipped and purpose-built for start-ups.
- In 2020, additional works were performed on the infrastructure of the BeeZone incubator. A complete reconstruction of the roof and rough works in the attic have been done, by the end of which the incubator will have more than 200 m2 of additional space to support new entrepreneurs in Travnik, but also in the entire Central Bosnia Canton.
- In September 2021, the II BeeZone Fair of Ideas was held with educational programs for children and youth and the presentation of supported businesses at the street fair in front of the Center for Youth Education.
The “TREIN” project aimed to create a dynamic and stimulating environment for the opening and growth of new companies in attractive and fast growing sectors in the municipality of Travnik and Central Bosnia Canton through the synergy of public, civil, private and educational sectors.
In order to ensure the participation of partners in the process of planning, implementation and advocacy of human resources development policy, a Local Partnership for Employment of Travnik Municipality (LPE Travnik) was established, consisting of: Travnik Municipality, Regional Development Agency for the Region of Central BiH (REZ Agency), Employment Service of Central Bosnia Canton, Youth Education Center – CEM, University “Vitez” in Travnik, NGO Center for Youth Education CEM Travnik, NOBIL Ltd. Nova Bila, GS-tmt Ltd. Travnik and Mixed Secondary Economic and Catering School in Travnik.
With the strengthening of LPE Travnik, a system has been developed to create conditions for easier starting of business and business in general, and the formation of initiatives to relieve the economy by changing tax policy and reducing bureaucratic processes. Improved local capacities and support mechanisms for young people for self-employment.
